The case can be made that anyone who is truly racist is crazy. After all, no one got to pick their body at birth. And similarly, anyone who actually believes in their own moral superiority could also be argued to be 'crazy'. Sane people are just not that myopic. As Jesus said (paraphrased), when confronted with the eating of non-kosher food, "it is not what a man puts in his mouth but rather what comes out of his mouth that defileth him". And so it is with crazy people. My arguing that people who spew ad-hominem attacks are crazy isn't an ad-hominem attack, but rather it is just a definition. If you insinuate that another person's motives are inferior to your own, you are exposing both your simple mindedness and your misguided egomania, not to mention a childish meanness.
